A bull elephant comes forward out of a wall of dust, ears wide, tusks catching what little light there is. Artur paints it entirely in sepia and soft black, building the hide from a dense web of cracks and creases and then letting the animal dissolve into cloud at the edges. The background falls to near darkness on one side, which pushes the head forward. At 60 by 80cm this is the largest painting in the collection.
