A single iris against flat black, the falls in deep violet with a bright yellow and white flash at the throat and the standards folding over above. The green stem and leaf come up from the bottom edge. Artur uses the black ground the way a photographer uses a studio backdrop, so the flower has nothing at all to compete with. One of a pair with St. Joseph Lilly, same size and same treatment.
