A young woman in a red and grey slashed-sleeve gown turns to look back over her shoulder, a fine red bead chain and small gold cross at her throat, a ruby drop at her ear. Artur paints it in the manner of a Renaissance portrait, with the background dissolved into smoke and a single warm red vertical behind her. The hair is worked braid by braid. Small at 24 by 30cm and dense with detail.
