Flowers
Two paintings, made as a pair. Iris Flower and St. Joseph Lilly are the same size at 25 by 30cm and given the same treatment: a single stem against flat black, with the ground used the way a photographer uses a studio backdrop so the flower has nothing at all to compete with.

The lilies are the harder of the two to bring off. Artur keeps the petals almost entirely white and finds their form with the faintest grey.
